About Mirya Zen

For more than 16 years, I have built my career around one of the most powerful tools we have for connection, healing, and human experience: touch.

What began as a career in massage therapy has evolved into something much broader, a passion for helping people understand what is possible through intentional touch. Today, my work sits at the intersection of massage therapy, wellness, professional development, and conscious intimacy, allowing me to serve two very different audiences who are ultimately seeking the same thing: a more meaningful experience. Whether I am helping an aspiring massage therapist find the right direction for their career or teaching a couple how to reconnect through touch, my philosophy remains the same:

Touch has the power to transform both how we work and how we connect.

From Massage Therapy to Wellness

I earned my massage therapy license in 2010, and from the beginning, I knew I wanted to understand more than massage alone. My career has taken me through some of the most demanding and rewarding environments in the industry, with the majority of my professional experience spent working in luxury hotels, luxury spas, and with high-profile clientele in both New York and Atlanta. Working in these environments taught me far more than technique. I learned about service, professionalism, client psychology, communication, attention to detail, consistency, and what it truly means to create an exceptional experience. At the same time, I became deeply immersed in the broader wellness industry. I pursued a personal training certification, developed a personal practice of yoga and meditation, and became increasingly interested in nutrition and holistic approaches to well-being.

The more I learned, the more I realized that wellness was not just about what happens on a massage table. It was about how we live, how we move, how we care for ourselves, and how we connect with our bodies and with one another. That perspective would eventually shape the direction of my career.

From Therapist to Consultant

As the years passed, I began feeling a desire to do more than provide hands-on services. I wanted to share what I had learned. I knew I wanted to move into coaching and consulting, but for a long time, I wasn't exactly sure what that would look like. Then, in 2024, I had the opportunity to serve as a consultant for a developing spa in Midtown Atlanta, primarily assisting with spa services and operations. That experience became an important turning point for me. It showed me that the knowledge I had accumulated through years of working in the industry could be applied in a completely different way.

I also began noticing another pattern. New and aspiring massage therapists would come to me for professional advice. They wanted to know what type of environment they should work in, how to navigate the industry, how to build their careers, and what possibilities existed beyond the traditional path they had been taught to expect.

Eventually, I realized that consulting and mentorship was becoming part of who I was.

A Massage Career Doesn't Have to Look the Same for Everyone

One of the things I have learned throughout my career is that there is no single formula for success in massage therapy. A therapist may thrive in a luxury hotel. Another may build a successful independent practice. Someone else may discover a passion for sports massage, education, consulting, management, entrepreneurship, or another specialty entirely. The goal isn't to create a career that looks impressive to everyone else. The goal is to create a career that works for you.

That belief is at the heart of my work with aspiring massage therapists. Through my experience, I want to help new therapists see beyond what massage school teaches them and understand the decisions, opportunities, challenges, and possibilities that can shape their professional lives.

My goal isn't to tell you what your career should look like. It's to help you understand what is possible so you can make better decisions about the career you want to build.

When My Work With Touch Became About Couples

While my professional work was evolving, something else was happening in my massage practice. Throughout the years, I had clients tell me the same thing in different ways:

“I wish I knew how to massage my partner.”

They weren't necessarily looking to become massage therapists. They simply wanted to know how to use touch to care for their partner, create connection, relax together, and bring something meaningful into their relationship. Those conversations stayed with me. I began thinking about how much potential exists in teaching couples to become more intentional with touch. That realization eventually led me toward my work in conscious intimacy. For me, conscious intimacy isn't about creating temporary excitement. It is about learning how to become more present, attentive, communicative, and connected with one another. I want to help couples develop that kind of awareness so that connection doesn't have to be something they experience only in fleeting moments. It can become something they intentionally nurture throughout the life of their relationship.

Where I Am Today

Over the last two years, I have intentionally defined and refined my lane as a consultant and intimacy coach with an emphasis on touch therapy. Today, my work has two distinct paths.

For aspiring massage therapists, I provide education, perspective, and guidance designed to help them navigate the profession with greater clarity and confidence. I want to help therapists avoid learning important lessons only after years of trial and error, and instead make informed decisions about their careers from the beginning.

For couples, I teach conscious approaches to touch that can help create greater presence, communication, awareness, and connection within their relationships.

Although these audiences may seem different, the foundation is the same:

Education. Empowerment. Intentional touch.

My Vision

Moving forward, my goal is to reach as many aspiring massage therapists as possible and help them get on the right track for the career they want, not the career they think they are supposed to have. I want more therapists to understand that their license can be the beginning of a journey rather than the definition of their entire career. I also want to help more couples discover that meaningful connection doesn't have to disappear with time. Relationships evolve, and so can the way we communicate, touch, listen, and show up for one another.

My hope is to give people practical tools and a deeper understanding of touch that they can carry with them long after they leave my website, finish a book, or complete a session. Because ultimately, my work isn't just about massage. It isn't just about careers. And it isn't just about relationships.

It is about helping people understand the power of intentional touch, and teaching them how to use that power with greater awareness, confidence, and purpose.

Whether you're an aspiring massage therapist trying to figure out where your career can take you, or a couple looking for a deeper way to connect, I invite you to explore what intentional touch can make possible in your life.
